In the V century vandals entering the Suevi and in Galicia, and is what they found in their path, and forcing the Galician-Roman population to seek refuge in the ancient hill forts.
The importance of Sanxenxo was to grow to its greatest splendor in the late seventeenth century, coinciding with its development and the settlement of a class of second order, consisting of nobles, clerics and scribes.
The promontories of the coast served as a natural fortress for the existing population to fend off invasions by the Normans and Saracens.

Between the ages V and X, Sanxenxo suffered attacks and looting of Vandals, Normans and Muslims.
At the end of the fifteenth century, amid the struggles between the nobility on the one hand and the clergy and the common people on the other, known as the struggle of Irmandiños.
During the XV, XVI and XVII, fishing and agriculture became the main economic activities. Sanxenxo moves from feudal wars to fighting for economic rights and the different fishing gears. Disputes arise between Pontevedra and dizzying Combarro one hand and those of Sanxenxo and Portonovo the other.
In the nineteenth century, the salt industry, introduced by the Catalans in the mid-eighteenth century, is modernized to compete in domestic trade.
